How to Connect Your Domain Name to Your Wix Website and Get Rid of Ads
If you’ve made it this far, you’ve probably already completed this step, right?
All kidding aside, this is an absolutely crucial step that must be taken to make sure your website looks professional.
I can’t think of a single hiring manager who would be impressed by a website covered in advertisements for Wix, let alone one who would be impressed upon seeing www.yourname.wix.com/online-resume or something similar on all of your application materials.
There’s really no point in going through all of this trouble if you don’t make sure your personal branding website looks professional!
Now, of course, Wix is going to charge you a small monthly fee for you to do this, but so will all other website builders (and Wix is among the most affordable).
The great part is, for the cost of a few Big Macs, you can make sure your site is completely “on the brand” and ready to impress your hiring manager.
So go ahead and complete this step before moving on!

How to Boost Your Personal Website Home Page
When a hiring manager visits your website, what’s the first thing they’ll see?
Your home page!
Now that you’ve connected your domain and removed the Wix ads, you need to make sure you’ve completely changed your home page to reflect all of your personal information.
We keep talking about first impressions, and that’s because they’re such an important part of the job interview process.
So you need to take some time and make sure your homepage is on point.
In this short video, we’ll walk you through exactly what you need to do to make sure you make a great first impression on anyone who visits your site.
3 Personal Website “Hacks” You Can Use to Impress Hiring Managers
Everyone likes a good “To hack” (unless it is your bank account of course!) …
Website hacks are no different, so we thought we’d make a video highlighting three of our favorites.
Adding one or more of these three hacks to your site can really take it to the next level, and the best part is, they are quite easy to do.
Now, keep in mind that these things are completely optional, so you don’t absolutely need to have them. But there’s also no reason for you to be intimidated by adding them as we’ll walk you through the process in the video below.
Check out these three awesome tips by watching the video below!
Case study: How Having a Blog Helped Victoria Michelson Get Multiple Jobs
In case you were wondering how powerful a blog can be be in fact when it comes to your job search, check out this quote from Victoria Michelson:
“As an experiment, I started including an invitation to visit my website every time I submitted a job application. I expected to generate quite a bit of traffic doing this and show more of my personality than I could communicate in a brief cover letter, but I did not anticipate the overwhelming positive response I received from potential employers who took the time to check out my blog.
They sent emails complimenting my writing style and left thoughtful comments on my posts. This led to some real personal conversations on issues of mutual importance which established common ground at the time of my interview. And I’ve been told more than once that I was offered the job because my blog and the discussions it sparked gave the hiring committee confidence in my skills and character.

How to ‘personalize’ your personal branding website
Here at Interview Guys Headquarters, we REALLY love to talk about adaptation.
Because this is the strategy that we have taught millions of our students to help them absolutely destroy their job interviews … it really works.
The great part is, our personalization method can be easily applied to a personal branding website.
In fact, personal websites were “tailor-made” (pun intended) for tailoring.
Make some small tweaks to your site that are suited to the industry, the company and position you are interviewing / for may cause your hiring manager to visualize you as an employee of their company even before you step foot in the interview room, and of course, that’s a good thing.
So watch the video below for how to personalize your personal website, as it is perhaps the most powerful thing you can do for your personal brand.
Thanks for reading and watching! Good luck building your personal branding website!
